Do you want to go to Glastonbury 2022 for FREE?

If you missed out on tickets to Glastonbury festival this year, never fear, there are still ways to get to the wonderful Worthy Farm for Glastonbury 2022 – and it might even be for FREE!

One of the best ways to get yourself a golden ticket is to work at Glastonbury or be a volunteer, and there are plenty of opportunities to do this.

Volunteer at Glastonbury 2022 – Work for a charity attending Glastonbury Festival.

One way to bag a Glastonbury 2022 ticket is to volunteer your time and work for a charity. The way this usually works is that you are required to pay a deposit of about Ā£250-Ā£300, which is roughly the same price as a ticket upon signup. You get this deposit back once you have completed all your shifts, however, this can differ from charity to charity so do check their terms and conditions. It basically stops people from getting a free ticket and never working an hour of their shift – makes sense really.

Shift normally entails working 3x 8-hour shifts over the five days (Wednesday – Sunday) of Glastonbury. Apart from that, your time is yours and you can do with it what you wish as long as you turn up for your next shift. On top of that, volunteers usually have separate camping facilities, meal vouchers and have access to HOT SHOWERS!

WaterAid

WaterAid has been a longstanding friend of Glastonbury, and this year took over 600 volunteers to the festival. With numerous different roles available, including water kiosk staff, ‘Water Welcomers’, the ‘Loo Crew’, and those that simply spread the word about WaterAid and all the work they do across the world – there is something for everyone.

Applications for 2020 will open in January 2020, so keep an eye out for those in the new year! (Please note this has changed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Keep an eye on their pages for updates)

Oxfam

Oxfam has been working with Glastonbury for over 25 years, and annually brings a whopping 2000 volunteers to the festival! Not only that, all the money raised from shifts supports Oxfam’s work to end global poverty. Isn’t that nice!? Roles for Oxfam includes: Helping festival-goers at the gates, campaigning with the public, or helping in the Oxfam festival shop.

You can register your interest to volunteer with Oxfam here, or keep an eye on their website for more details!

Other Avenues To Get To Go To Glastonbury For FREE…

Medical Team

Put all those years at university to good use… If you have a medical, paramedic or specific first aid qualifications, you can apply to join Dr Chris Howes’ team of volunteers by completing the application on the website.

Festaff

Want to welcome people to the festival and hand out wristbands? Then this is your job! Festaff employs a large number of volunteers to check and distribute festival wristbands at the entrances, among other roles.

But the best thing about them is that Festiaff claims that 90% of the shifts shouldn’t clash with the headliner’s and that shifts can usually be completed in the first few days before the stages take off! RESULT!

The one thing to be aware of is that you must also select a sister event to partner your Glastonbury application. Apart from British Summer Time festival or All Points Eastyou may pick from any of the events on their roster. Both events must be completed before you get your Glastonbury deposit returned.

Applications open in March however why not sign up to their newsletter and keep an eye open on their website for any more information. The early bird catches the worm!

Glastonbury Recycling Crew

‘Love the farm, leave no trace’ if you haven’t heard this saying tossed about then where have you been? Recycling, sustainability and being environmentally friendly are some of the core values of Glastonbury. All festival-goers are encouraged to recycle wherever possible. In 2019, single-use plastic bottles were banned at Glastonbury and so they sold Limited Edition waterbottles to encourage festival-goers to take advantage of the Water Kiosks.

Recyclers and litter pickers are recruited by the festival itself, so simply email one of their representatives to find out more and register your interest.

Security

Getting yourself into Glastonbury might mean being part of the team that keep unwanted people out. Multiple security teams will be operating at Glastonbury, and although most of the time to be event security you have to have certain qualifications/complete courses, preparation and getting those done in advance could be a way to secure your ticket!

Keep Checking the Glastonbury Website

Whatever and however you think is best for you to get a ticket, make sure you regularly check the Glastonbury Official Website for updates and news about how to get involved and work at the festival!

Good Luck
