London is not just a fabulous city for all its tourist sites, quirky bars, fab choice of restaurants, or its weird and wonderful things to do – it also has some kick-ass festivals! There are a handful of awesome festivals in London which I think are fab to go along to this summer for those looking to go to just for a day (or two). Make sure you know your options, and what to take to a day festival this festival season!
All Points East (May 24-June2)
Only launching in 2018, and winning the UK Festival Award for ‘Line-Up of the Year’, All Points East is an eclectic festival that takes over the fabulous Victoria Park. The opening and closing weekends make way for music acts ranging from Christine and the Queens to The Chemical Brothers, Bon Iver to Bring Me the Horizon. For all the days in between, there are four days alternative entertainment including comedy, film screenings, street food and much, much more. Plus, the 4 non-music days are free to enter! Winner!
Camden Rocks (June 1-2)
I would describe Camden Rocks as London’s well-kept secret! Showcasing over 400 artists at multiple venues around Camden. Camden Rocks is one of London’s most thriving indie festivals giving music fans the chance to catch a glimpse of an upcoming band in an intimate small venue setting. This festival is for those looking to discover the next musical genius – but don’t be fooled, with the likes of Frank Turner, The Pigeon Detectives and (one of my fave bands) The Flight Brigade, this is not a small scale event and won’t stay a well-kept secret for long!
Field Day (June 7-9)
Nominated for NME’s Award for ‘Best Small Festival’, Field Day takes on a new location for 2019 – Meridian Water in Enfield. This diverse dance and alternative music festival has been a long-standing annual event for some and I can see why! Attracting a diverse audience, Field Day’s variety of artists and attractions means it’s the perfect summers day out whatever your interests. Plus for only £40 a ticket, it’s an absolute bargain!
Wireless (July 5-7)
July kicks off in Finsbury Park with Wireless Festival. Named the ‘UK’s biggest and most famous urban music festival’, expect to see the likes of Cardi B, Tyga and Stefflon Don taking centre stage. Showcasing the biggest acts from the worlds of grime, hip-hop, garage and more means everyone gets their music fix. Tickets are already sold out – but it is definitely one to keep on the radar for next time!
Lovebox (July 12-13)
Located right near Acton Town tube station at the wonderful Gunnersbury Park, Lovebox showcases artists from the worlds of R&B, house, techno, hip-hop, and grime across two days in early July. Tickets are slightly more expensive than others at around £60+ but with a roller disco and vintage fair, there is plenty more than just the music that you will get for your money.
British Summer Time (July 5-14)
Think upmarket festival vibes, small stages, comedy, theatre, great food and a swanky VIP area… that’s BST Festival. Located in the utterly regal borough of Kensington at Hyde Park, BST brings Florence and the Machine, Stevie Wonder, Robbie Williams and Celine Dion to the glamorous West London suburb. With tickets starting at £65 it isn’t as cheap as others, but with headliners like theirs – it’s worth it!
Citadel ( July 14)
With the main stage playing host to Friendly Fires, Bears Den and Honeyblood, this years lineup will have everyone dancing at Gunnersbury Park. Not only that, with its family-friendly nature, the wealth of activities on offer, including yoga, educational talks, comedy, a pub quiz, and who can forget the prosecco on tap (YES THAT IS A THING) – who wouldn’t want to get involved? Plus tickets are very reasonable starting at £39!
Eastern Electrics (August 3-4)
Born from Londons warehouse party culture, Eastern Electrics in Morden Park is a fantastic house and techno festival which has been going since 2007. With its chill-out zones, all-day party vibes and stages showcasing the latest talent, it’s definitely one to get involved with this summer!
SW4 (August 24-25)
SW4 takes place in late August and is a festival I have been to multiple times. Slap bang in the middle of SW London on Clapham Common, it’s super easy to get to and heaps of fun! With artists ranging from Martin Garrix to Craig David and Sigma, there really is something for everyone. Think Ibiza meets London for a weekend of dance explosion, and not only that, day tickets cost around £55, so for the caliber of artists playing, it’s a really good price!

We’re so lucky to have so many good festivals in London but this post has made me realise …. we have so many festivals to go to on that list that we’ve never been to before. Eastern Electrics is deffo on the list and I want to make it back to Wireless and Lovebox this year as really want to we ASAP Rocky again. Thanks for all the tips.
